Also known as Sabaa Baharat, this aromatic Middle Eastern seasoning combines black pepper, allspice, cinnamon, cumin, coriander, cloves and nutmeg to bring warm, traditional Lebanese-style flavour to everyday cooking.

For meat, rub the Lebanese seven spice seasoning into lamb, beef or chicken before grilling, roasting or slow-cooking. For rice, beans and vegetable stews, add 1–2 teaspoons per pot and adjust to taste. To make a simple Lebanese-style marinade for chicken, lamb or beef, combine the seasoning with olive oil, garlic and lemon juice before coating the meat.

This versatile Lebanese seasoning for chicken and lamb can also be sprinkled over roast vegetables, added to soups and stews, mixed through rice dishes, or used to season scrambled eggs.
